Chicken Souvlaki Recipe
Chicken Souvlaki Recipe are skewers of tender chicken breast marinated in lemon, garlic and herbs, then grilled to perfection and served with a creamy yogurt sauce, similar to Tzatziki.
For 4 Person Servings;
60 g red onion
1 branch tomato
2 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons of olive oil Olisone
4 Eridanous chicken skewers
spices for souvlaki Eridanous
4 pita bread with eridanous garlic
Eridanous tzatziki sauce
Preparation time 30 minutes
Greek cuisine combines the best ingredients and all the flavor and freshness of the Mediterranean diet.
HOW TO PREPARE CHICKEN SOUVLAK RECİPES:
Cut the onion into julienne strips and marinate in lemon juice for 15 minutes. We cut the tomatoes into wheels, then into triangles and reserve.
Mix finely chopped garlic cloves with two tablespoons of olive oil and grill chicken skewers with it. Season with salt and pepper and add spices for souvlaki.
Lightly moisten the pita breads and heat them in a pan.
Combine the souvlaki: put a small arugula at the bottom, add the tomatoes, onion and chicken. We finish with tzatziki sauce to taste, garnish with fresh parsley and… enjoy!

What are souvlakis?
The name derives from Souvla, which means skewer in Greek and souvlaki is its diminutive.
It is a very popular street food in Greece. These are skewers of pieces of pork (although they can also be chicken or lamb) marinated with oregano, lemon and olive oil, cooked on the grill.
They are eaten alone as a snack although they can also be a more complete meal if they are accompanied with vegetables, tzatziki, bread, potatoes or rice.
Souvlaki is usually made with pork, lamb, beef and chicken, and as we mentioned, currently it is also possible to find it from fish and even vegetarians.
Although it is a recipe that dates back to ancient Greece, today it is still one of the most popular traditional dishes for its simplicity and versatility.
The origin of the suvlakis is found in ancient Greek culture.
Proof of this are the archaeological finds from excavations in Santorini, where sets of stone cooking supports used before the 17th century BC were unearthed in which there are pairs of indentations that were probably used to hold the skewers.
Likewise, the suvlakis are mentioned in some works by Aristophanes, Xenophon, Aristotle, and other classical authors.
